Bunton Roofing Proudly Sponsors the 2025 Hooked on Scouting Event Benefiting the Texas Trails Council in Abilene
At Bunton Roofing Company, we believe in building more than just roofs—we believe in building communities. That’s why we're honored to help sponsor the 4th Annual Hooked on Scouting Team Bass Tournament, hosted by the Texas Trails Council of Scouting America, on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Hubbard Creek Lake. This exciting event supports local Scouting while offering anglers a chance to reel in incredible prizes—a perfect blend of fun and philanthropy.
What’s Hooked on Scouting All About?
The Hooked on Scouting event is a spirited bass-fishing tournament that brings the community together for a great cause. Anglers compete not only for top cash prizes—totaling $7,750—but also for chances to win raffle items like Bass Pro Shop rod and reel combos, Academy and Abilene Gun Works gift cards. All proceeds help fund the Texas Trails Council, directly enriching Scouting programs in West-Central Texas.
About Texas Trails Council (TTC)
The Texas Trails Council (#561) is a proud local council of Scouting America, serving youth across 17½ counties in West-Central Texas—from Brown to Taylor counties. Established in 2003 through the merger of Chisholm Trail Council and Comanche Trail Council, TTC delivers Scouting programs for boys and girls from kindergarten through age 20. They support Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA (formerly Boy Scouts), Venturing crews, Sea Scouts, and the Order of the Arrow’s Penateka Lodge.
Located in Abilene, the TTC office and Scout shop is at 3811 N. 1st St., offering support, training, uniforms, and resources for youth and volunteers alike.
Camps Where Adventure Lives
Two iconic camps anchor TTC’s outdoor experiences:
Camp Tonkawa, located south of Abilene near the state park, provides Cub Scout day camps, family events, summer camp programs, and even serves non-Scouting groups like 4-H and school field trips.
Camp Billy Gibbons, nestled by Brady Creek, hosts summer camps, Order of the Arrow gatherings, leader training, and more.
Through its camps, TTC fosters outdoor skills, teamwork, and a lifelong love for adventure.
