Bunton Roofing Named “Feed the Giraffe Sponsor” for the 2nd Annual ROC N’ RUN
Bunton Roofing is proud to be a Feed the Giraffe Sponsor for the 2nd Annual ROC N’ RUN, taking place September 12, 2026, at the Recreation Outdoor Complex (ROC) in Abilene.
The family-friendly event benefits the Abilene Youth Sports Authority (AYSA) and Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Sports. Hosted in partnership with AYSA, FCA, Abilene Running Co., and the Abilene Zoo, ROC N’ RUN gives runners and walkers an opportunity to support youth sports while enjoying a fun morning in the community.
Run, Walk and Feed the Giraffes
The 5K Run and Mile Walk will begin at 8 a.m. at the ROC and take participants through the Abilene Zoo. Registration includes admission to the zoo after the race, giving families another reason to stick around and enjoy the morning.
As the Feed the Giraffe Sponsor, Bunton Roofing will provide lettuce for runners to feed the giraffes after they cross the finish line.
We think that's a pretty great way to celebrate finishing a race.
Whether you're a serious runner, a casual walker, or bringing the kids out for a fun morning, ROC N’ RUN is designed for all ages. Strollers are welcome, and children ages 4 and under can participate for free.
Supporting Youth Sports in the Abilene Community
Supporting organizations that invest in local kids is important to Bunton Roofing. AYSA provides opportunities for young athletes to participate in organized sports, while FCA Sports combines athletics with character development and faith-based encouragement.
Events like ROC N’ RUN bring families, athletes, businesses and community organizations together around something that benefits local youth.

Registration: $30 adults | $20 students ages 5–18 | Free for ages 4 and under
Registration includes: Race participation, race shirt for those registered by September 1, and admission to the Abilene Zoo.
